Waldorf annoucnes Streichfett desktop string synth

Image placeholder title

Waldorf's website today featured a new tabletop synth module in the same form factor as their Rocket synthesizer and 2-Pole analog filter. Intended to emulate the analog string machine and "ensemble" keyboards of the '70s and '80s, it combines a polyphonic string section with a monophonic solo synth section, much like many of those keyboards did back in the day. In Waldorf's words, it aims to recapture the vibe of what "adult movies sounded like 30 years ago." Maybe that's a European thing, as such movies made in the USA during that time gave us the "bomp chicka wow wow" wah guitar riff, and we don't see a button for that on the Streichfett.
