SCOTTS VALLEY, CA • October 22, 2014 — Universal Audio is pleased to announce that Apollo Twin and the Neve 1073 Preamp & EQ Plug-In Collection have been nominated for the 30th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Award.
The TEC Awards were established in 1985 to honor outstanding achievement in professional audio production and product innovation. Hundreds of entries for nomination were reviewed and voted upon by an extensive panel of veteran sound and music industry professionals in the U.S. and abroad. Online subscribers to Mix, Pro Sound News, Pro Audio Review, Electronic Musician, and members of professional audio and sound production organizations will determine winners through private online voting this fall.
The winners of the 30th Annual TEC Awards will be announced at a ceremony to be held Saturday evening, January 24, 2015 at the Anaheim Hilton as a special highlight of the NAMM Show, one of the world’s largest music products trade shows.
“Universal Audio is very excited and honored to be nominated for this year’s TEC Awards. Both the Apollo Twin and Neve 1073 Plug-In Collection were ambitious projects that required extensive teamwork by the entire organization. We truly appreciate the recognition,” says Bill Putnam Jr., CEO and founder of Universal Audio.
Nominated in the Computer Audio Hardware category, Apollo Twin was released NAMM 2014 and is an industry leader in the desktop audio interface category. Released in May 2014, the Neve 1073 Preamp & EQ Plug-In Collection was nominated in the Signal Processing Software Category and has been recognized as one of the most accurate recreations of the classic hardware console.
