Long known for providing outstanding bang for buck with their Privia line, keyboard manufacturer Casio has gone upscale with a new line of home-oriented digital pianos, the Celviano Grand Hybrid. Developed in collaboration with German artisanal piano maker C. Bechstein, the new hybrid pianos feature exhaustively realistic sound sets, an action that duplicates the mechanics and strike line of a real grand piano, and a speaker system designed to duplicate the sound field of the real thing as well.
Keyboard’s own Jon Regen visited Casio USA headquarters in New Jersey this week to get a personal first look at these next-level instruments from Casio, which in our opinion appear to be aiming straight at the Yamaha AvantGrand line while--in true Casio fashion--costing far less money. Expect a full review from us very soon. For now, check out the six hands-on videos we shot at Casio.
