The original Electro-Harmonix Clockworks pedal is one of those stompboxes that's hunted to extinction on the used market. Not a sound source or audio effect in itself, it generates master clock signals and trigger pulses for other things--like your drum machine, analog synth, or step sequencer. Why have a box dedicated to being a master clock when every piece of your gear likely has its own clock as well as an internal/external sync option? Because you have a central hub for making devices play nice together.
In this just-released demo video, Electro-Harmonix shows just how much the Clockworks can do at once, commanding Korg Volca Keys and Monotribe synths, an EHX Super Space Drum pedal and 8-Step sequencer, and Pitchfork pitch-shifting effect.
