In iOS 8, Apple added a slick way to record audio and video from an iPhone or iPad into a Mac running Yosemite or a newer OS. Simply connect the iDevice with a Lightning cable, launch Quick-Time Player on the Mac, and select New Movie Recording from the File menu. Next, click the “V” next to the Record button and select the iDevice as the source. Click Record on the Mac, Play on the iDevice, and you’ll capture a high-res movie in real time. Here, I’m making a music video using the WizzJ visualizer (TrueSelfSoft.com; $2.99), but you can get even more interactive by manipulating an “eye candy” app while your music plays in the background.
