We're choosing singer/songwriter Donna Missal's song "Jupiter" from her debut album This Time as our THURSDAY TRACK PICK this week.

Missal is no stranger to the music business. She's been recording since she was four years old, and her father ran a New York City recording studio and also toured with artists like Billy Idol as a drummer.

“'Jupiter' was first sent to me as a demo by Sharon Van Etten," Missal tells us. "She had written an arrangement that sort of felt like a stream of consciousness. I had never had an artist write a song for me to sing before, but I knew it had to be on my album. I made an arrangement and wrote a bridge and we recorded it over and over trying to get it right. I wanted it to feel like a dance song with a lot of heart. We kept the title of "Jupiter" because it was written on a Roland Jupiter synth.”
