Sound: Melodic, electronic, indie techno-pop.
Favorite Gear: Apple Mac running Logic Pro, Arturia soft synths, Roland Juno-106, Gibson Les Paul guitar, and the human voice.
Favorite Songs: “Love Will Tear Us Apart” by Joy Division. Maybe that’s a bit obvious, but it’s a classic.
Influences: New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Human League, Underworld, Orbital, Radiohead, Fluke, Plaid, Carl Craig, Kraftwerk, LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip, John Barry, Ewan Pearson, Saint Etienne.
Newest Project: Fear of Night album out now on Urban Torque recordings. Currently, we’re also remixing some album tracks for future singles.
Favorite artist you’ve probably never heard of: World of Twist. Part of the early ’90s Manchester scene, their Quality Street album is full of pop gems — mixing acid house with northern soul — and was produced by the Grid.
Practice regimen: Don’t force yourself or you won’t enjoy it. If you’re not in the mood, then do something else. Technical proficiency is not that important.
Words of wisdom: Give out but don’t give up.
