Muse Research Announces New Receptor Trio

Third Model fits between RECEPTOR VIP and QU4TTRO

Anaheim, California. Jan 24, 2013—Muse Research and Development, Inc. makers of the RECEPTOR VIP dedicated hardware-based plug-in player, are debuting the RECEPTOR TRIO at the 2013 Winter NAMM show. The new RECEPTOR TRIO features a new quad-core processing engine, a 1TB hard drive, 8GB of RAM, and comes bundled with a PreSonus 1818 audio interface for up to 18 inputs and outputs. The new TRIO model features a new and improved 64-bit operating system with IntellibridgeTM technology that lets you run 32-bit and 64-bit plug-ins simultaneously as well as expanding the capabilities of Muse Research's exclusive LIVE MODE, the ground-breaking live performance technology that first appeared in their VIP model. RECEPTOR TRIO is expected to ship first quarter with a list price of $2999.

TRIO: Third RECEPTOR Model Slots in-between the VIP and QU4TTRO The RECEPTOR TRIO incorporates a quad-core processor, a 1TB drive, and 8GB of RAM to allow it to fit nicely between the affordable RECEPTOR VIP and the top-of-the- line RECEPTOR QU4TTRO.Although not as powerful as the QU4TTRO, the TRIO is a system with impressive capabilities at an affordable price. Like the QU4TTRO, the RECEPTOR TRIO features TetraCoreTM technology to balance the load between the four cores to get maximum performance from even the most processor-hungry virtual instruments and effects. Also like the RECEPTOR QU4TTRO, the TRIO supports multiple channels of inputs and outputs thanks to the bundled external audio interface, letting you use it as a multi-effects processor and multi-channel sampler / synth / sound module simultaneously. The new RECEPTOR TRIO is ideal for a touring or performing musician who requires more power than the VIP, but doesn't require the extra performance offered by the top-of-the-line RECEPTOR QU4TTRO.

64-bit OS supports more RAM for unbeatable performance live or in the studio

Complimenting the TetraCore processing engine is the new 64-bit OS that supports both 64-bit and 32-bit virtual instruments and effects. Support for 64-bit plug-ins lets you use all 8GBs of memory in the TRIO, and with the Intellibridge feature, you can run both 32- and 64-bit plug-ins simultaneously. Even more impressive is the extended capabilities offered by the extra RAM when using the exclusive LIVE MODE feature. LIVE MODE lets you pre-load the sounds and effects that you need at a gig, providing instant access via the LIVE MODE performance screen, which can be controlled from a tablet or smart phone device over Wi-Fi or with a standard footswitch attached to the back. Clearly, performing live even with large plug-ins and sample libraries is now much easier with the expanded RAM, 64-bit OS, and LIVE MODE features found in the RECEPTOR TRIO.

PreSonus 1818 Interface Provides Massive I/O Capabilities

The RECEPTOR TRIO is the ideal solution for touring musicians that need to send multiple outputs to a sound reinforcement system, either as balanced analog or ADAT digital audio signals. With 8-channels of analog input and outputs, 8-channels of ADAT optical digital inputs and outputs, as well as S/PDIF stereo inputs and outputs, the RECEPTOR TRIO can adapt any performance or recording situation you come across. The pristine audio I/O provided by the PreSonus 1818 lets you process incoming signals like guitars, basses, vocals, or your other keyboards in the RECEPTOR TRIO while simultaneously providing individual outputs for all your virtual instruments.

Once configured, the RECEPTOR TRIO lets you save the 1818's configuration for later recall using a simple MIDI program change or with the push of a button on the front panel. This makes the combination of the RECEPTOR TRIO and the PreSonus 1818 a perfect "command central" for your band when playing live.

The massive power inside the RECEPTOR TRIO also makes it ideal for running large numbers of virtual instruments in a studio environment, with individual outputs sent to a DAW or external mixer. The TRIO provides a stable, high-performance solution for running all your plug-ins without bogging down your DAW computer.

The new RECEPTOR TRIO will be introduced in the Muse Research booth 6825 in Hall A at the Winter NAMM show and is expected to ship in March. With the release of the new RECEPTOR TRIO, Muse Research now offers a complete line of RECEPTOR models to fit all budgets and applications.
