I’d like to kick this month off with congratulations to our New York City-based editor at large Jon Regen, who’s becoming enough of a rock star in his own right that soon I’m not going to be able to overwork and underpay him anymore. His new album Stop Time was produced by Mitchell Froom and features Elvis Costello’s Impostors as the band. It feels a bit like nepotism to do an actual review of the album, so I’ll simply say that I really dig it, and if you like piano-based singer-songwriter fare that’s informed by a serious jazz background, you’ll probably dig it, too. Watch Jon talk about Froom’s vintage keyboards in the video below, and be sure to read his interview with fellow piano man Jamie Cullum in our June 2015 issue, which is out now. Way to go, Jon!
