Favorite gear: Ableton Live with Novation Launchpad and Vestax VCM-600 controllers, Universal Audio UAD plug-ins . . . plus spoons and a washboard!
Now listening to: This month, it’s the Loko Remix of “Jungler” by Mijali and Victor Vera, mashed up with [classic Delta blues song] “John the Revelator” by Son House.
Influences: Tom Waits, Trentemoeller, Aphex Twin, Woody Guthrie, Boards of Canada, Gabe, Guided by Voices, John Lee Hooker, Richie Hawtin, and Crackhaus.
Newest projects: Remixes of “Belgrade Riddim” by Sub Swara and “We Can Fly” by Lachi.
Favorite artist you’ve probably never heard of: ATOM/Precious Roy from the Hobotech crew. As much as I like his sets, I like it when we don’t play the same show — so I can play all of his tracks!
Practice regimen: Go completely bonkers two days before a show.
Words of wisdom: That track you’ve been working on for a month? Finish it and move on to something else.
