Legendary singer Aretha Franklin, known the world over as the “Queen of Soul” died on Thursday at the age of 76.

According to her publicist, Franklin died at her home in Detroit of advanced pancreatic cancer. 

She had over 100 singles in the Billboard charts and won 19 Grammy Awards. As well as being heralded as a vocalist, Franklin's piano style was equally as acclaimed. In her 2016 Keyboard interview, singer/songwriter Norah Jones cited Franklin as an influence. "You know who else was a great accompanist for herself? Aretha. I love her playing."
