Bleeding Through Bleeding Through

BleedingThrough_nrThanks in no small part to the tasteful contributions of keyboardist Marta, Bleeding Through’s latest album maintains a feverish level of symphonic metal grandeur, yet never spills over into self-parody. Bellowing vocals and raging guitar work lay the foundation in “Anti-Hero,” for example, while Marta’s Chopin-esque piano adds a welcome touch of ice to that musical fire. By contrast, “Divide the Armies” shows Marta’s heavy synth work amping up the track’s palpable burn-down-the-world fury. (Rise Records, bleedingthrough.com)
