March 26, 2014--Bitwig, the Berlin-based upstart startup that has long been working on a new DAW that has garnered comparisons to Ableton Live from those who have seen it, has released version 1.0 of the software today. It's available for Mac OSX, Windows, and Linux.

This hits their promised release date right on the nose, as reported on by Peter Kirn of Create Digital Music. Time will tell whether it will one-up some of the bigger names or be relegated to wanna-be status, but there's no denying that it packs a heck of a lot of technical sophistication and intuitive musical workflow--especially for a version 1.0 release.
