Then it happens — the Errant Button-Press. We changed modes inadvertently or committed some other error without storing all our in-progress edits. Arrgh. Musicus Interruptus. Not well-known, though, is that the Motif offers a solution.

4.

1. Just after your screwup, press Job.

2.

2. Notice the option in the Job menu called Edit Recall. Touch F2 to select it, then press Enter.#

4. Now, store your program into Motif’s “regular” memory by pressing Store and then Yes. Your edits are now safely stored.

So where were those “lost” edits? In the edit buffer. Edit Recall moves them into the working memory, giving you that second chance at happiness, as it were. Marvelous it is, yes, but once you’ve been reunited with your changes, you still have to remember to save your new Voice, Pattern, or what-have-you into permanent memory.
