Apropos of synth design icon
Dave Smith
being in our September 2012 Hall of Fame issue, editor guy Stephen Fortner paid a visit to Dave's new headquarters in the storied North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco. There, we got a first hands-on look at the new Mopho x4 polyphonic analog keyboard synth, and a walk down memory lane: Dave has working specimens of the Prophet-5, Prophet-10, and Prophet-T8 from his original work as Sequential Circuits, and we got to play them all. Plus, did you know that all Dave's synths are designed and manufactured within the city limits of San Francisco?
