Once the Fantom-X is on the desktop, open it up. You’ll see two folders named ROLAND and TMP. Open the TMP folder and copy a WAV or AIFF drum loop from the sample CD to the folder named AUDIO IMPORT. Once the file has been copied, remove the Fantom-X from the desktop. 4. Press the SAVE/LOAD button, and press F8 for Audio Import. You’ll see the drum loop that was transferred to the Fantom-X. Press F8 again to import the sample to RAM. 5. Now that the sample is in RAM, press the SAMPLE EDIT button. Press F1 for SAMPLE PARAMTERS, and press F6 for BPM CALC to determine the tempo of the sample. 6. Now let’s use this sample on an audio track. Press the SONG EDIT Button, then F3 for AUDIO TRACK. Next, press F6 INSERT. Select the drum loop you imported, and press F8 to SELECT. Now the drum loop is on an audio track and is in perfect sync with the tempo. Press F8 to COPY the drum loop so it keeps repeating. One of the best features about the Audio Track upgrade is that these eight tracks work just like a hard disk recorder — you can start and stop in the middle of audio phrases, cut, copy, paste, and rearrange just like a dedicated DAW. |
