Making perfect loops with Stop Trigger Roland Fantom-XJune, 2005This month we’re going to explore some of the sampling features of Roland’s Fantom-X. The Fantom’s sampling section is very powerful, yet it’s friendly to use and can make sampling fun again. The internal clock of the Fantom is synchronized to the sampler, giving you the ability to make perfect audio loops of your music. The feature that makes it happen is called Stop Trigger. 1. Press the Sampling button and select F2 Re-Sampling. 2. Use the cursor to scroll to Stop Trigger and set it to 16 beats (4 measures). 3. Press F2 for Auto Trigger. As soon as the sampler receives a signal it will start sampling. 4. Play a riff on one of the presets that includes a rhythm loop. The sampler will start recording. 5. Once the sampler stops recording after beat 16, you will have created a perfect audio loop of your riff and rhythm. |
