On a recent visit to the New York City area, editor Stephen Fortner got to drop in on the offices of Korg USA, sitting down with Korg's Rich Formidoni for a session with the new Krome workstation. It's sample-based sounds are derived from the Kronos, and as you'll see, it has a few tricks up its sleeve in the sequencing department that even the $3,000-and-up Kronos doesn't. What's more, it's affordable, with the 61 and 88 key versions hitting the all-important magic price points of about $1,000 and about $1,500 at actual stores.
