About Jordan Rudess
Jordan Rudess entered the prestigious Juilliard School of Music for classical piano training at age 9. At 19, he left Juilliard to pursue the world of synthesizers. In 1994 Jordan was voted Keyboard Magazine’s “Best New Talent” after the release of his solo album, entitled Listen. Some of the artists Jordan has worked with include the Dixie Dregs, David Bowie, Enrique Iglesias, Tony Williams, Jan Hammer, and the Paul Winter Consort. In 1999, after teaming up with John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater to record two Liquid Tension Experiment albums, Jordan became a full-time member of DT and has been with them ever since. The group finished up their last tour in April at a sold-out show along with full orchestra at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Score, the DVD from that event has already gone Platinum. Dream Theater’s newest album is entitled Systematic Chaos and was released on Roadrunner Records in ’07. Dream Theater then embarked on their Chaos in Motion tour and will round up their globe-hopping with the Progressive Nation tour which will go from late April into June ’08.
In September of 2007 Jordan’s newest solo album, The Road Home, was released on Magna Carta Records. It features incredible musicians such as Steven Wilson, Ed Wynn, Kip Winger, and Rod Morgenstein. Jordan has released two books, Total Keyboard Wizardry and the Dream Theater Keyboard Anthology. He also has two instructional DVDs available, entitled Keyboard Madness and Keyboard Wizardry.
