Quick - who's taken the "guy with a huge stack of synthesizers" thing to the level of lifelong international fame? Two names immediately pop into our heads: Vangelis, and Jean Michel Jarre. Jarre has been touring Europe, with dates in the United States in the works, and his level of commitment to getting the original sounds from such seminal synth albums as Oxygene and Rendez-Vous is formidable: He's on the road with nearly all of the instruments used in the original recordings!
Look for a feature on Jean Michel soon. In the meantime, enjoy these photos he sent us of the incredible gear he's using on the IN-DOORS tour. Be sure to visit his official website at jeanmicheljarre.com

It must suck to be this guy, huh? At left: Nord Lead above Roland JD-800. Jarre's playing a Memory moog, behind which sit a pair of EMS Synthi A synths. To the right of this is a Roland V-Drums cymbal, and to the right of that is an EMS Synthi AKS with blue touchplate keyboard. On top of the keyboard are a pair of BOSS pedals. Behind all this and next to the accordion is the mystery synth from the previous pic, with its truncated corners.
