Whereas NAMM is huge and covers everything from pianos to DAWs to guitars to school band instruments, the Audio Engineering Society (AES) conference and trade show is for the serious recording geeks. Since we proudly put ourselves in that category, editor Stephen Fortner roved the floor to find the most interesting and musical new gear. Among our top picks: The lovely, effective, and veddy expesnive Resinno piano-leg modification, which to our ears does have a positive impact on the sound. Also, Slate Pro Audio's Raven MTX, which is undoubtedly the mother of all multi-touch control surfaces.
