Korg Triton Series Creative Sample SlicingThe Triton features a powerful Time Slicing function, which is most often used to slice up sampled loops so you can take control over their playback speed. But there are many creative tricks to apply that go far beyond tempo manipulation. Here are a few. 1. After slicing a groove, go to the Loop Edit Page and try setting a few slices to a tight loop to get a quick “stutter” or “tuned noise” effect. Select the desired slice by holding ENTER and pressing a key on the keyboard, starting from C2. 2. Turn on the Loop function and set the start and end points as desired. 3. Another idea is to reverse a few samples by choosing them and then checking the Reverse box on this page. 4. More? Go to the Multisample Page and select an Index and tune the sample up or down. 5. On this same page you can set the same sample to two adjacent Indexes, or just go crazy re-assigning them to get new groove concepts going. Just select an Index and then choose a different sample from the pop-up window. |
