Asphalt JungleBob Marley Remixed [RedEye] Bob Marley set to electronica? Sounds like it could be a dicey proposition, but Asphalt Jungle (www.bohemianproductions.net) managed to license the a cappella tracks from much of Marley’s catalog. When soloed, Marley’s soulful, laid-back vocals have a rhythm all their own, and Asphalt Jungle heard potential in the tracks that goes way beyond reggae — though there are a couple of remixes here that at least give that venerable style a nod. Cleverly pairing some of Marley’s lesser-known vocals (both unadorned and substantially altered) with elements of jungle, house, lounge, acid jazz, Ashpalt Jungle show their remix mastery here — and their groovy synth collection, to boot. Ganja with goa, anyone? Soon come, mon. |
