By Tony Orant

It's a rare keyboardist who has one foot planted in jazz fusion and the other standing equally sure in prog rock. Adam Holzman is that rare keyboardist. From early keyboard work on Miles Davis' seminal electric album Tutu to a production of Orff's Carmina Burana with Ray Manzarek and Philip Glass, to sideman work with Chaka Khan, to his current tour with prog icon Steven Wilson of the band Porcupine Tree, he has consistently earned critical acclaim as one of the most daring and best contemporary keyboardists alive. In these videos he takes us through the gear in his current stage rig. Look for the full story in our September 2013 issue.
