Hot Discovery - Wes Bailey of Moon Taxi
Hot Discovery - Wes Bailey of Moon Taxi

We'd heard a lot of buzz from various friends in Nashville about Moon Taxi, a band that combines the joyful jamming of Phish and the multi-movement prog of early Yes and Genesis with a tight songwriting sensibility that non-musos will find accessible. This is one of those combinations that either really works or really doesn't, so we're happy to say that in their hands, it really does work. We caught up with keyboardist Wes Bailey at a show in San Francisco, and filmed an interview along with some footage of his funky keyboard technique--check out those left-hand ghost notes. If we had to compare him to anyone, we'd say Page McConnell meets Gregg Rolie. Rock on, Wes. We'll be following your career closely!
