Owners who switch to Apple’s new phone can use their IK hardware straight away

September 25, 2012IK Multimedia, the leader in mobile music creation apps and accessories for iPhone®, iPod touch® and iPad®, is pleased to announce that seven of its audio accessories, including iRig™, iRig MIC, iRig MIC Cast, iRig MIX, iRig STOMP and iRig PRE have been tested and are fully compatible with Apple’s new iPhone 5 without the need of any additional adapter or hardware. In addition to these audio accessories, IK announced that its iKlip MINI universal mic stand adapter for iPhone is also compatible with the new iPhone 5. This means that IK Multimedia users can continue to rely on their accessories after upgrading to Apple’s latest phone.

As IK's audio accessories connect to the iPhone via the headphone jack, rather than the dock connector, users won't have to purchase adapters to access the iPhone 5's new connector, as required with accessories from many other companies.

The IK accessories that are now compatible with the new iPhone 5 cover every aspect of music creation and performance, from guitar and bass playing, to singing and recording, to DJ'ing and live performance.

Guitar & Bass

iRig was the first, and still is the most popular guitar-and-bass interface adapter for the iPhone. It offers an affordable price and full compatibility with IK’s range of effects-processing apps such as AmpliTube®, AmpliTube Fender® and AmpliTube Slash, plus a multitude of other apps including GarageBand.

iRig STOMP, now shipping, is the first stompbox-style guitar and bass interface. It allows guitarists and bassists to integrate their favorite signal processing apps into their live setup, inline with their other effects.

Vocals & Recording

iRig MIC is the premier handheld microphone for recording with iOS audio apps like IK's VocaLive™, iRig Recorder and many others. Featuring real-time monitoring and a three-level gain switch, it deftly handles everything from singing to speeches to instrument recording.

iRig MIC Cast provides users with an ultra-compact, low-profile microphone designed for recording podcasts, interviews, lectures, and other spoken-word material. It offers flat frequency response and direct pick-up pattern for recording without background noise.

iRig PRE, just shipping, is the first studio-quality, microphone preamp for the iOS platform, and makes it possible to use professional mics including dynamics, ribbons and condensers with iOS recording apps. It sports such pro features as an XLR input and switchable 48v phantom power.

DJ and Mixing

iRig MIX is the first iOS mobile mixer for DJs and live musicians, and includes a full lineup of professional features such as a crossfader, separate channel faders, EQ, cue, a master volume and more. It makes a great hardware front end for IK’s DJ Rig app for iPhone, and can also be used in any other application where a small portable mixer is required.

Stage

iKlip MINI, a universal microphone stand adapter for iPhone and iPod touch, makes it easy to securely clip the iOS device to a microphone stand for live performance and practicing. Not only does it work with the iPhone 5, but with every other existing iPhone and iPod touch model.

All IK Multimedia apps are also working with the iPhone 5, and will be updated soon to take advantage of the larger screen and additional processing power.

Price and Availability

The above mentioned accessories are available now from authorized IK Multimedia music and electronics retailers worldwide and from the IK Multimedia Online Store, with prices ranging between $39.99 and $99.99 (€29.99 to €74.99) All prices listed are excluding taxes.
